Top 100 NFL Players of 2019 (100-91)

100) Von Miller, Edge, Denver Broncos

2019 Stats: 15 games, 46 tackles, 8.0 sacks, 2 pass deflections, 20 quarterback hits

The 2019 season was not among Von Miller’s best. He failed to eclipse the 10-sack threshold for the first time since his injury-shortened 2013 season. However, the former second-overall pick in 2011 has continued to lead a Denver Broncos defense that seems to remain in the top half of defenses in the league no matter who leaves. Also, while his sack numbers were down on the previous season, Miller was able to combine for more hurries, knockdowns, and pressures than he did last season.

99) Cooper Kupp, WR, Los Angeles Rams

2019 Stats: 16 games, 94 catches, 1,161 yards, 10 touchdowns, 12.4 yards-per-catch

Cooper Kupp picked up right where he left off in 2018 before he went down with an ACL tear. Kupp was a rare bright spot on a Rams team that failed to make the playoffs a year after their Super Bowl appearance. Jared Goff’s struggles could be linked to the regression of his offensive line or the injuries that Todd Gurley and Brandin Cooks dealt with. Kupp, at least, provided Goff with a consistently productive target throughout 2019.

98) Aaron Jones, RB, Green Bay Packers

2019 Stats: 16 games, 236 rushes, 1,084 rushing yards, 49 receptions, 474 receiving yards, 19 total touchdowns

With 19 total touchdowns last year, it’s safe to say that Aaron Jones has emerged as the favorite out of Green Bay’s backfield. The shifty runner pairs deceptive speed and strength in order to produce behind Aaron Rodgers and the Packers offensive line. Pairing Jones and Jamaal Williams together will ensure that the duo will be able to take the load off of one another.

97) Kenny Clark, DT, Green Bay Packers

2019 Stats: 16 games, 62 tackles, 6.0 sacks, 9 tackles for loss, 1 forced fumble, 1 pass deflection

One of the quietest producers in the league, Kenny Clark has come along fantastically for the Packers since Green Bay selected him out of UCLA in 2016. Clark matched his sack total from a year ago while adding another total tackle for a loss and a Pro Bowl selection. Clark doubles as a potent run-stuffer as well, clogging up the trenches even without the help of former Packer Mike Daniels last year.

96) Carlos Dunlap, Edge, Cincinnati Bengals

2019 Stats: 14 games, 63 tackles, 9.0 sacks, 13 tackles for loss, 2 forced fumbles, 8 pass deflections

Carlos Dunlap just completed his best season since his most recent Pro Bowl year in 2016. Racking up his most sacks since 2015 and his most tackles since 2014, the longtime Bengal has consistently provided pressure off of the edge for the Bengals, even when the team is so bad that no one gives him the proper recognition. Also, his eight pass deflections in 2019 give him an eye-opening 38 deflections over his past four seasons.

95) Brandon Scherff, G, Washington Theismanns

2019 stats: 11 games, 1 sack allowed, 9 penalties

Scherff missed some time for Washington to the tune of five games. Those five games, however, might have done more to prove what Scherff means to the Theismanns than what Scherff could’ve done on the field. The former fifth overall pick was the only offensive lineman that could do more than hold their own for a porous front that was down Trent Williams all season. Scherff was a big reason why Adrian Peterson has continued to produce as a functional number one running back in his 13th season.

94) Amari Cooper, WR, Dallas Cowboys

2019 stats: 16 games, 79 catches, 1,189 receiving yards, 8 receiving touchdowns, 15.1 yards-per-catch

Amari Cooper had moments where he looked poised to become a top-five receiver in the NFL over the past season, as well as moments where he seemed to disappear from the game. A perfect example of Cooper polarization was his two-game stretch against the Packers and Jets that included a 226-yard performance followed by a three-yard showing in New York the following week. Still, Cooper enters 2020 locked down as Dak Prescott’s favorite target for the foreseeable future.

93) Budda Baker, S, Arizona Cardinals

2019 stats: 16 games, 147 tackles, 7 tackles for loss, 0.5 sacks, 6 pass deflections, 1 force fumble, 1 fumble recovery

The two-time Pro Bowler led all non-linebackers in tackles with 147 in 2019; that number ended up being good enough for fourth overall in the league. Baker continues to be a force in Arizona’s secondary, making a case for Arizona’s most important defensive back as Patrick Peterson begins to surpass his prime. His game against Tampa Bay proved that regardless of the outcome, Baker ramps up his intensity during close games.

92) Darren Waller, TE, Oakland Raiders

2019 stats: 16 games, 90 receptions, 1,145 yards, 3 receiving touchdowns, 12.7 yards-per-catch

The Raiders’ last year in Oakland contained a few positive storylines. Few storylines on the team, and even in the NFL during the 2019 season was Darren Waller. Waller was fantastic between the 20-yard lines for the Raiders, serving as Derek Carr’s go-to target. After totaling 178 receiving yards in his first three seasons, the Georgia Tech product trailed only Travis Kelce in receiving yards from a tight end during the regular season.

91) Jamie Collins Sr., LB, New England Patriots

2019 stats: 16 games, 81 tackles, 7.0 sacks, 3 interceptions, 7 passes deflected, 3 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery, 1 defensive touchdown

Jamie Collins struggled after being traded to Cleveland from the Patriots in 2016. Collins was eventually released by the Browns before returning to his prior form during his second stint with the Patriots. In his one year with Bill Belichick as his defensive play-caller, Collins was all over the field for New England and showed it on his stat sheet. Now headed to Detroit in 2020 to reunite with former defensive coordinator Matt Patricia, the versatile linebacker has proven that he can still play at a very high level in the right scheme.
